What the App Actually Gives You

Red Shores has been part of harness racing on Prince Edward Island since the 1880s, and over time our digital tools finally caught up with the track action. Through the app and the redshores.ca mobile portal, players in Canada can pull up race programs, picks, simulcast links, casino offers, and rewards information without having to drive out to Charlottetown or Summerside every time.

We do not pretend the app replaces the atmosphere on a live race day. It does not. But for planning, checking lines, following promos, or staying on top of your play, it covers almost everything you typically need before and during the card.

Both of our locations are built into the experience: Charlottetown Driving Park (CDP) and Summerside Raceway (SRW). All sections that involve real-money wagering or casino gaming remain restricted to customers who are 19 or older, which is the standard across Atlantic Canada and we follow it closely.

Getting the App Set Up

To get going, start at redshores.ca. From there, the site detects your device and directs you either to the dedicated app download or into the mobile-optimized version of our portal. On Android, you can install an APK directly or follow a redirect to Google Play when that store listing is live. On iOS, the official page sends you straight to the App Store button.

Once the app is on your phone, open it and clear the age-gate first. We ask you to confirm that you are 19 or older before any racing or casino content appears. After that, you either log in with your existing Red Shores account or set up a new profile with an email address and a password.

At this point we usually suggest enabling push notifications. Our practice shows that race day alerts, especially when post times move around a bit, are genuinely helpful. The timing on those is tuned to what actually happens around our paddocks.

The first home screen you see after setup brings together a few core blocks: upcoming race dates at both tracks, current casino promotions, and a direct link into the Race Programs and Picks area. Main navigation is split quite simply into Racing, Casino, Dining, and Rewards tabs so you can jump straight to what matters on that visit.

Race Programs and Picks

For a lot of our regulars, this is the first place they go in the app. The Race Programs and Picks portal gives you digital race cards for live harness racing at CDP and SRW, along with basic handicapping support. You see post positions, driver and trainer details, and the picks loaded in before each race card starts.

To open a program, move into the Racing tab, choose Charlottetown or Summerside, then tap the date you are interested in on the calendar and view the race program tied to that card. Inside that program, a Picks section lists the handicapper’s choices race by race. On most phones and tablets you can export or share the file if your device menu supports it.

We also keep race office contact details visible right inside the Racing area so you do not need to hunt them down elsewhere. For Charlottetown, reach the office at 902-629-6634 or 902-629-6636. For Summerside on a race day, the line is 902-888-5666 ext. 4118.

If you are still getting comfortable with how a race program reads, we usually suggest something very simple: start with the post position and take a quick look at the driver record. Those two pieces of information do most of the heavy lifting. The rest of the numbers and lines become helpful context once you have that base.

Casino, Promotions, and Rewards

Casino details in the app reflect the Charlottetown Driving Park gaming floor. On site we operate slots, roulette, poker, and other live table games at that property. From your phone, the app lets you preview what is happening there - current promotions, special casino evenings, plus any event schedules linked to gaming nights.

Each promotion tile inside the Casino tab lists a few practical points: the date of the offer, what you are expected to do to take part, and any membership or age requirement beyond the standard 19+. In nearly every case, redemption itself happens in person at 58 Kensington Road in Charlottetown. The app here works as a planning and tracking tool, not as a place where you actually cash the promotion.

Your rewards activity is tied directly to your registered profile. Inside the app you can see your points balance at a glance, along with your current tier and the rewards that are open for redemption at that level. Points can come from both casino play and racing activity, so when you combine a race card with some gaming on the same visit, balances tend to grow quicker than people expect on their first few trips.

We also connect dining into this view. Reservations at the Top of the Park Restaurant in Charlottetown can be made through the same ecosystem, which keeps your race night or casino evening in one place - food, track, and floor.

Pari-Mutuel Betting and Simulcast Access

Pari-mutuel wagering is still at the core of what we do at Red Shores, and we have made sure the app links directly to simulcast coverage for both PEI tracks. Red Shores Summerside Raceway also appears on third-party betting platforms such as AmWager, so Canadian customers can watch and wager into SRW pools through partnered networks outside the app when they prefer those setups.

When you are ready to place a bet with the app or with a connected wagering account, the flow looks roughly like this:

1. Log in to your Red Shores profile or your linked wagering account.
2. Move into the Simulcast or Live Racing section.
3. Choose CDP or SRW, then select the race number from the live card.
4. Review the program entries alongside the current odds screen.
5. Pick the wager type you want - Win, Place, Show, Exacta, or whatever pools are currently posted.
6. Enter your stake in Canadian dollars and submit the ticket.
7. Open your bet slip in the account area to confirm that everything recorded correctly.

Live streaming on race days is handled through our Red Shores YouTube channel, and the app connects you into that feed. The enhanced simulcast theatre at Charlottetown shaped the way this section is set up - it is built around more than a rolling odds ticker and gives a sense of the track, not just numbers on a board.

Inside the account section you control your profile information, notification options, and a set of responsible gaming tools. We put extra attention here so that customers can make adjustments on their own time. On race days at both tracks, Standardbred Canada has a representative on-site to handle stake payments, ownership transfers, and membership services. Those tasks are not processed through the app itself, but if you are active on the ownership or training side, it is a practical detail to keep in mind.
